App for PCs Mobile App on PCs Viber for PC is an application that can be used to make free calls between two Viber users. Viber users can also send text messages to each other for free. Viber is officially only available for iPhone and Android phones. However, a lot of people want to have Viber on their PCs which does not seem possible easily. However, we have found a way to get Viber for PC now.
You will be able to download Viber for PC and then make free calls and send free text to your friends who use either Viber on their Android or iPhones or Viber for PC. You will be able to communicate with them for free without the need of buying an expensive smartphone to use Viber for Android or Viber for iPhone. You will be able to download Viber for PC and make those calls using a microphone and speaker connected to your PC and you will be able to send Free SMS messages anywhere in the world for free too.
Viber for PC does not have video calls currently to be one of the Skype Alternatives. However, there are a bunch of good Skype alternatives that can make free video conferencing calls.
Anyways, let us get started with Viber for PC download.
Viber for PC – step by step guide
In order to get Viber on your PC you need to get an Android emulator running on it. With the android emulator, you can install Viber for Android on it and then you can use Viber for Android as if it is Viber for PC.
The emulator will let you make calls to other Viber users. You can register for a Viber account using your PC and then log in to Viber from your Viber for PC only. This way, you will be able to make free calls to anyone using your PC. The another advantage of this method is that you do not need to spend money on a smartphone. You can download the Google Android simulator, or emulator if you will, and then use that to install Viber on your PC.
You need to follow the steps below to get Viber for PC
- Download Android Emulator. You can grab it for free from Android developer’s website.
- If you do no have Java installed on your machine it will prompt you for that too. Just proceed with the steps.
- Download Viber for Android app on your PC
- Install the Viber App on your PC (Emulator)
- Enter your phone number (Use Google voice number if you do not have free text or use Callback method)
- Activate your Viber for PC APP

If you are running into API problems our users have suggested that you download and install Free PC backup software and try the above steps again.
Note: Some users have the issue that Viber keeps crashing on their PCs even though they have followed all of the instructions. If that is the case you should try our method with advanced emulator described here.

I managed to install Android 4.0.3 emulator on my PC.

Viber can work under Gingerbread, and not yet tested and supported ICS and JellyBean!

I managed to install Viber.apk on windows 7 (64 bit) when I select Google APIs. It does not success on Android API. Sending messages from Viber app does not have any problem. Free call manage to connect to other numbers only for a short while and connection lost. Receive call happens the same thing. As soon as Incoming Call is accepted connection lost.

It should not be the problem. We tried it again and it worked fine. The only difference could be we have ooVoo on our PC. We read somewhere that some of the APIs that ooVoo use can help you setup viber.apk. Can you try installing it here is the link and making a test call? also, try updating your Windows software through Windows update if this does not work.
Newer version of Android Emulator is available. You can grab it for free from Android developer’s website and it works.

I was able to install the Emulator first. I could not install the Viper for PC after the download. I clicked the setup and “Download Manager Setup Wizard” screen open and I chose the “Advanced” option and uncheck “Install the Funmoods Toolbar” step though and chose the “Default (recommended)” and last screen doesn’t have the next button to “Install” and doesn’t do anything, I wait more than 30 minutes and nothting happened. Do I have to Install the Funmoods Toolbar so I can install the Viber for PC?

I think this is the best way. Download and install bluestacks on your pc. When installation is complete open any android website and download android applications (apk). You can download and save these applications with your normal pc browser(firefox, internet explorer, safari. opera, chrome, green browser etc). Note: When downloading android applications with internet explorer select save and mark or check the Open With check box and choose the already installed bluestacks as the default program to open the android applications. You can also use the bluestacks’ browser to download applications straight from android markets. Bluestacks works as your usual android phone but with bluestacks you can do a whole lot of things.
