Now that you have installed Viber on your Windows PC or your Mac computers, you should be thinking about what more can you do by applying the skills you have acquired while downloading Viber for your PC. Guess What? I was recently talking to a friend and he asked me if there was a way to use WhatsApp Messenger for PC. My first response was that I have never tried installing the WhatsApp for PC but then I started thinking about it. I tried following the steps that I posted in the tutorial to get Viber for PC. Lo and Behold – in about 10 minutes I was able to use WhatsApp on PC.
Yes, you can apply the same knowledge that you needed for Viber to get WhatsApp on your PC [facebook]
Tutorial on how to get WhatsApp for PC
Since we will be using the same set of instructions that we used for the tutorial for Viber for PC, we will refer to the tested ok solution to get Viber on a Windows PC. Since I have already tested it you can take my word for it, that this method works to get WhatsApp for PC as well.
Step 1: Make sure you have the PC Backup software available. If you have not installed the Viber app yet, you need to download the software first. The link is given below.
Step 2: Install the My PC Backup software. If the test call goes fine it means your system will support the Whatsapp for PC. If you run into errors then you need to figure out what is wrong with your PC. If you send us a screenshot as well as a small description of error we might be able to help you out.
Step 3: Download the advanced android emulator. Install it on your PC and run it. Some of our readers have reported that they are not able to get the software running on their PCs. We have done some extensive research to reproduce the error and it seems that the Bluestacks software only works in a particular compatibility mode (Windows XP).
However, even after changing the compatibility mode you might not be able to run it without crashing. Try running it as an admin in that case – shown in the figure below.
Also, read the important note below if you are running in the error shown in the following file:
Important:If you have downloaded BlueStacks from the website and it does not work, then you need an old version. They have moved away from the MSI file types to EXE file types which is causing a bit of trouble. You can always download the MSI version from this link.
Step 4: This step is little different from the step required to get Viber on PC. This is because WhatsApp messenger is included in the list of softwares/apps that are downloaded with the emulator.
Step 5: You just need to run the WhatsApp app from the emulator and then set it up as if you would on your Android mobile phone.
Step 6: Once you have setup your WhatsApp, you can go ahead and add your contacts to the list. If you have an account that is already setup then you can just specify the account credentials and all the settings will be synced to your Whatsapp on PC.
